Tobalá
Agave potatorum
Tobalá · Maguey de monte
Its name is celebrated, but a label needs more than reputation. To understand an expression, ask about botanical identity, place and plant management. A tobalá bottle does not by itself demonstrate that the agave was wild harvested.

Botanical passport
- Reference territories
- Puebla · Oaxaca
- Recognising its appearance
- Compact rosette; broad leaves with wavy edges and prominent teeth.
- Reproduction and continuity
- Seed; flowering matters for population renewal.
- An important distinction
- A local name is not a universal botanical identification.
The photograph guides observation; identifying a batch requires producer documentation.
From knowledge to your selection.
If you are seeking an expression for your venue or a comparative tasting, Javier can help turn these questions into a specific enquiry. Expressions and availability are confirmed by enquiry.
